Ibu kota kecamatan ini berada di\u00a0 Desa Karangsari. Kecamatan Karangtengah secara geografis terletak pada 110\u00ba30\u201948\u201d-110\u00ba38\u201922,5\u201dBT dan 6\u00ba51\u201942,4\u201d-6\u00ba56\u201944\u201d LS. Sebelah utara kecamatan Karangtengah berbatasan dengan laut Jawa, sebelah timur Kecamatan Karangtengah adalah Kecamatan Demak, Kecamatan Wonosalam dan Kecamatan Bonang, sebelah selatan kecamatan Karangtengah berbatasan dengan kecamatan Guntur, serta sebelah barat kecamatan Karangtengah berbatasan dengan kecamatan Sayung. Jarak kecamatan Karangtengah ke kota Demak adalah 5 km, adapun jarak kecamatan Karangtengah dengan kecamatan sekitarnya antara lain dengan kecamatan Wonosalam 10 km, kecamatan Guntur 7 km, kecamatan Sayung 10 km dan kecamatan Bonang 15 km.<\/p>\n<p>Secara administratif luas wilayah kecamatan Karangtengah adalah 51,55 km2, yang terdiri dari 17 desa. Sebagai daerah agraris,kebanyakan penduduknya berprofesi sebagai seorang petani. Wilayah kecamatan Karangtengah terdiri dari lahan sawah seluas 3.572,00 ha, dan lahan kering 1.583,00 ha. Menurut penggunaannya, sebagian besar lahan sawah yang digunakan berpengairan tadah hujan 2.867,68 ha, dan setengah tehnis 449,07 ha. Untuk lahan kering, 200,51 ha digunakan untuk perkebunan, 1161,21 ha digunakan untuk bangunan dan halaman, selebihnyadigunakan untuk jalandan sungai.<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0Kecamatan Karangtengah terdiri dari 17 desa.
