Adanya pemukiman warga di sekitar sungai dapat mempengaruhi keadaan sungai, seperti aktivitas yang dapat menimbulkan sampah. Apabila hal tersebut tidak dikelola dengan baik, sampah akan menumpuk dan menimbulkan efek yang kurang baik. Kegiatan tersebut dilaksanakan pada Minggu, 7 Agustus 2022 \u00a0di beberapa titik dengan mengambil sampah yang menggenang atau sampah yang berada di sekitar sungai. \u00a0Dalam pelaksanaannya, mahasiswa KKN-PPM UGM 2022 bekerjasama dengan pemerintah desa serta masyarakat setempat.<\/p>\n<p>Pembersihan sungai bertujuan untuk mencegah banjir, mengurangi bau tidak sedap akibat endapan sampah, serta mengurangi sampah. Pembersihan sungai harus dilakukan dikarenakan berdekatan dengan lingkungan masyarakat. Sampah yang dikumpulkan, dibuang ke pusat pembuangan sampah yang berada di pinggir lapangan Desa Wonowoso. Sebagai langkah mengajak masyarakat untuk tetap menjaga kebersihan sungai, mahasiswa KKN-PPM UGM juga memasang spanduk ajakan untuk menjaga sungai.<\/p>\n<p>Kondisi sungai setelah dan sebelum
